3. The Figure shows two bars, A1=1.7 A2. D1=1.25 inches. L1 = 3 ft., L2=14 inches. The
material is Steel A-3. a) Determine the lowest load P to make one of the bars to reach the
plastic condition and the displacement of point C. b) If the load computed in part a, is
increased by 8 % what is the displacement of point C. c) What is the load P necessary to get
the bars in fully plastic condition. d) If in part b, the load is removed what is the displacement
of point C.
