PRESENTATION
Our country is the best. Its official name is The Republic of Colombia. It is located in the
Northwest of South America. It has two wonderful oceans: the Pacific and the Atlantic
oceans. They are important economic fonts, because these oceans have many animals,
and their coasts can be used as seaports and as tourist places; such as :
Buenaventura, Santa Mata, Cartagena and Guajira. Its surface is more than two million
square kilometres. Its capital city is Bogot which is the biggest in the country. Its mainlanguage is Spanish, but, there are many ethnic communities, which have their own
language.
My country is very rich in history, arts, literature, music, costumes. But there is more; it
has a variety of mineral resources. Colombia is the first world production of emeralds. It
has considerable mineral reserves of petroleum, natural gas, carbon, gold, silver, iron,
salt, platinum and uranium. It also has a beautiful and exotic fauna and flora that is
distributed in all the country.
Colombia is an agricultural country with coffee, banana, cotton, rice, sugar cane, corn,
potato and flowers. Colombia has many beautiful landscapes in all the country, and also,
many interesting places. One of them is the Andes range, formed by three mountain
chains, which extend from north to south throughout almost all the country. This is why
the majority of foreign people and even Colombian can enjoy all kinds of weather,
topography, history, carnivals, fairs, nature and biodiversity.
I think Colombian people are the best in the world because we are cheerful, resourceful
enthusiastic, creative, charming and loving, so I have many reasons to be proud of mycountry. But it is also true that Colombia needs people with initiative identity that are
competitive and capable of creating and innovating. For that reason we have to work as
a teachers to make people aware of our richness.

Finally, in Colombia there are many things to do; the problem is that there are people
without vision, wishes and energy but we can change it with self steem , education and
good training.

DEVELOPING OUR COMPETENCES TO COMMUNICATE:A WAY TO BE UPDATED.

medio como lo indica la teora de Leonardo Manrquez y Guadalupe Acle Tomasini;
