Aug 28-30 Phnom Penh to Chau Doc (1st Group only): AUG 28 WED: Phnom Penh arrival (hotel in Phnom Penh to be arranged separately) (Air Asia KL 1150 PNH 1245) 12.45pm arrival Phnom Penh airport. Transfer by sharing taxi to hotel.

AUG 29 THU: Phnom Penh – speed boat transfer – Chau Doc Pick-up from hotel, transfer to pier for 12.30pm speedboat departure to Chau Doc (via Bassac River, distributary of Mekong River). After immigration at Cambodia & Vietnam border checkpoints, arrive at Chau Doc, approx. 5.30pm. Pickup by van and check-in 2 star hotel. *** No tour guide service today

AUG 30 FRI: Chau Doc (B) Breakfast at hotel. Own exploration riverside & market area (such as floating market, floating houses, Mubarak mosque, Chau Phu Temple & 30th April Park). 11am check-out, transfer luggage to 3 star hotel and transfer to meet 2nd group arriving today (meet at lunch restaurant before Cam Mountain).

6D5N Aug 30-Sep 4 Mekong Delta Discovery DAY 1 AUG 30 FRI: CAN THO – CAM MOUNTAIN – CHAU DOC (L/D)

1st group: Arrive from Chau Doc to meet 2nd group at lunch restaurant (at base of Cam Mountain) and have lunch.

2nd group: (Air Asia KL 0755 VCA 0850) Air Asia 8.50am arrival at Can Tho airport, greeted by your tour guide. Transfer to lunch restaurant (at base of Cam Mountain, in An Giang province) to meet 1st group and have lunch.

After lunch, visit Cam Mountain; with a peak of 710m height, is the biggest and highest point of the That Son mountain range; popular for sight-seeing and also as a local Buddhist pilgrimage spot. Here you visit Phat Lon Pagoda, Van Linh Pagoda, Giant Laughing Buddha, Vo Bo Lon (bull shaped rock), Vo Bo Hong (highest peak) and Thuy Liem lake.

Then transfer to Chau Doc, the town located along Bassac River (Mekong’s distributary) and border with Cambodia. Dinner and check in hotel. Overnight in Chau Doc.

DAY 2 AUG 31 SAT: CHAU DOC - CU LAO GIENG - CAO LANH (B/L/D) After breakfast at hotel, visit Ba Chua Xu Pagoda (honouring a local protector goddess) and adjacent Sam Mountain. Next, take motor boat and

sampan boat trip at Tra Su Forest, a scenic experience of gliding on the swamp among Cajeput trees.

Then drive to Cu Lao Gieng, an island in the middle of the Mekong River, where you will visit Cu Lao Gieng Cathedral (dating back to the 1880s), Franciscan Monastery, Phuoc Thanh Pagoda and Ut Hung Fruit Garden (Cu Lao Gieng is famous for pickled mango). After that, drive to Cao Lanh city, capital of Dong Thap province. Have dinner at local restaurant and check in hotel to overnight. Overnight in Cao Lanh

DAY 3 SEP 1 SUN: CAO LANH - THAP MUOI – XEO QUYT – SA DEC (B/L/D) After breakfast, visit Xeo Quyt Heritage Zone, a forest and swamp area which is also filled with remnants of a hidden Viet Cong base of the Vietnam war (includes sampan boat ride to explore the area).

Next, visit Lotus Ponds of Thap Muoi district, where you can see many lotuses (subject to season; best from Aug to Oct), the icon of Dong Thap province. (includes sampan boat ride to get close to the lotuses) Transfer to Sa Dec city of Dong Thap province. Visit Tan Quy Dong flower growing village (Sa Dec area is famous for flower cultivation and is nicknamed “Garden of Cochin-China”). Dinner and check in hotel. Overnight in Sa Dec

DAY 4 SEP 2 MON: SA DEC – CAI BE – OVERNIGHT MEKONG CRUISE TOUR to TRA ON (B/L/D)

After breakfast at hotel, visit the local market building of colonial architecture, the riverside promenade and old part of town with colonial buildings. Visit Huynh Thuy Le Old House, a heritage house belonging to a Chinese trader family. This was the home of French authoress Marguerite Duras’ lover from her teenage years; their affair formed the basis of her novel "L’Amant” (meaning “The Lover") and made into a movie, starring Hong Kong actor Tony Leong Ka Fai as the lover. Stop to view from outside, the French built primary school where Marguerite Duras’ mother was a teacher.

Transfer to Cai Be (Tien Giang province), to board cruise boat for 2D1N cruise (join with other tourists). -12pm embark Le Cochinchine/Mekong Emotion boat, welcome drink and check in cabin. Start cruise to Cho Lach (Ben Tre province) and onwards to Tra On (Vinh Long province). -Halfway, disembark and enjoy pleasant walking or biking on the footpaths of the countryside to discover tropical fruit orchards and observe local people's activities. -Cruise on to Tra On, which involves sailing from Mekong River to its branch, the Bassac River. Enjoy the magnificent sunset over the Mekong Delta. -Dinner and overnight on board boat in Tra On. Overnight on cruise boat. DAY 5 SEP 3 TUE: TRA ON cruise to CAN THO – CAN THO CITY TOUR (B/L)

Enjoy the magnificent sunrise on the river. After breakfast, the cruise continues to Can Tho. Leisurely cruise up the Bassac River while enjoying the beautiful scenery. -Arrive at Can Tho, a big riverside city which is an independent municipality and known as the “Western Capital”. Board a small

boat that will take you to explore the Cai Rang Floating Market, one of busiest floating markets in the Mekong Delta, with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for space to sell their goods. Cruise through the palm-shaded creek to see local houses and orchards. -10am: End of cruise package. Disembark from cruise boat and board your tour van/coach.

Visit Ninh Kieu Pier Tourist Market (Old Market), Munirensay Temple (a Theravada Buddhism temple supported by local Khmer community) and Ong Temple

(a Chinese temple dedicated to Guan Kong located inside Guangzhou Assembly Hall).

After lunch, visit Cai Khe Market, the central market of Can Tho that is spread over four buildings and several blocks abutting the Cai Khe Canal, which many local farmers and wholesalers still use to transport their goods.

Visit Binh Thuy Heritage House, the French-style house built in 1870 by the Duong family on an area of nearly 6,000 sq m. This house was used in the movie "L’Amant” (“The Lover") to represent the male lover’s family house (instead of

the actual house in Sa Dec). Transfer to view and drive across Can Tho Bridge to the other side. Back to Can Tho city and visit Can Tho Night market (Phan Boi Chau and Phan Chu Trinh streets), dinner on your own here.

Overnight in Can Tho.

DAY 6 SEP 4 WED: CAN THO DEPARTURE (B) After breakfast, check out and transfer to airport for 9.20am flight home. RATES: per person, for Malaysian passport holders
