Roger Mello nasceu no Brasil. Ele é ilus-trador, escritor e dramaturgo. Sua for-mação começou em sua infância, lendo e apreciando livros de grandes mestres como Érico Veríssimo, Lewis Carroll, Monteiro Lobato e Jorge Amado. Ele era um estudante do famoso escritor Ziraldo.

Sua obra consiste em mais de cem títu-los, muitos deles livros - álbum de sua autoria integral. Vencedor de inúmeros prêmios em seu país e no mundo, incluin-do o Prêmio Hans Christian Andersen em 2014, é um representante exclusivo da arte latino-americana no mundo.

Roger Mello was born in Brazil. He is an illustrator, writer and dramatist. His tra-ining began in his childhood, reading and appreciating books by great masters such as Érico Veríssimo, Lewis Carroll, Monteiro Lobato and Jorge Amado. He was a student of the famous author Ziral-

do. His work consists of more than a hun-dred titles, many of them Picture Book of his integral authorship. Winner of nume-rous awards in his country and the world, including the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 2014, is a unique representative of Latin American art in the world.

Premio Favoritos de los lectoresEn el mes de noviembre ALIJA Sección Argentina de IBBY, dió a conocer a los ganadores del PREMIO LOS FAVORITOS de los LECTORES, distinción que valori-za el encuentro de los niños, las niñas y los jóvenes con los libros y la lectura en el ámbito escolar. Para llevarlo a cabo se evaluaron obras de autores argen-tinos <escritores e ilustradores>, pu-blicadas para niños y jóvenes lectores, priorizando su voz, su pensar y sentir sobre las lecturas realizadas. ALIJA buscó que la voz de los alumnos se haga oír. Un premio que hizo partí-

cipe a las escuelas, reconociendo y po-tenciando su lugar insoslayable en la creación de lectores críticos capaces de convertir la lectura en una experien-cia cultural. Pero, además, se favoreció la participación de las editoriales socias <quienes eligieron el corpus de títulos> y el vínculo con los libreros. Este pre-mio, centrado en lo que podría llamarse “Escuelas Lectoras”, no tiene equiva-lentes en el país. La Comisión Directiva de ALIJA envió los libros a las escuelas destinatarias y fueron los mismos do-centes, en las aulas, quienes compar-tieron las lecturas con los niños. Parti-ciparon 25 escuelas de 7 provincias y 14 localidades. Fueron seleccionados 108 libros para las escuelas Primarias y 30 títulos para la escuelas Secundarias. La ceremonia de premiación, realizada en la Sala Infantil María Elena Walsh de la Biblioteca del Congreso, contó con la presencia del conjunto de la comunidad educativa, autores, ilustradores y edi-tores.

The Favorites of the readersIn November ALIJA IBBY ARGENTI-NA, announced the winners of the PRIZE THE FAVORITES of the READERS, distinc-tion that values the mee-ting of the children, the girls and the young per-sons with the books and the reading in the school area. To carry out it there were evaluated works of Ar-gentine authors <writers and illustrators>, published for children and young readers, prioritizing their voice, their thinking and feeling about the readings. ALIJA looked for to make the students´ voices were heard. It is an award that made schools protagonist, recognizing and enhancing their una-voidable place in the creation of critical readers capable of converting reading into a cultural experience. But, in ad-dition, it stimulated the participation of the partnerpublishers <who chose the

corpus of titles> and the link with the booksellers. This

award, centered on what could be called

“Reading Schools”, has no equivalents in the country. The Board of Directors of ALIJA sent the

books to the target schools and it was the

teachers themselves, in the classrooms, who sha-

red the readings with the children. 25 schools from 7 provinces and 14 loca-lities participated. They were selected 108 books for Primary schools and 30 titles for Secondary school. The award ceremony, held at the Maria Elena Wal-sh Children’s Room of the Library of Congress, was attended by the entire educational community, authors, illus-trators and editors.

Muchas actividades en IBBY Bolivia La decisión de premiar a la Biblioteca Thuruchapitas del IBBY Bolivia con el Premio Latinoamericano “Hormiguita viajera” otorgado por la Biblioteca Popu-lar Madre Teresa y la Asociación de Bi-bliotecarios de Argentina determinó que algunos miembro de Thuruchapitas lle-garan a Buenos Aires a recibir el premio. Este fue entregado el 1ero de diciembre en medio de los sobresaltos de la Reu-nión mundial de G 20. La premiación fue muy comentada en el campo de la LIJ Latinoamericana, entre ellos por Eduar-do Burattini, organizador, por el progra-ma de radio de la Universidad de Mar del Plata dirigido por Estela Vega, quien en-trevistó a la directora de Thuruchapitas, Gaby Vallejo.Se publicó el Boletín Semestral del IBBY Bolivia, No 78 y se envió a los países miembros de IBBY. Se conoció la candidatura de la Biblioteca Thuruchapitas del IBBY-Bolivia al Pre-mio Internacional Astrid Lindgren para

el año 2019, noticia que llenó de alborozo a los miembros de IBBY-Bolivia, a niños y padres de familia, a la prensa y televisión que apoyaron la noticia con entrevistas y notas en los periódicos locales. Se realizó en enero el Taller de Escritura Creativa “El Duende de los Cuentos” des-tinado a chicos desde los 7 años hasta los 15 en los ambientes de la Fundación Sedes Sapientae. Se publicaron las fotos y los textos de los participantes en el pe-riódico “Los Tiempos”.

Many activities in IBBY Bolivia The decision to reward the Thuruchapi-tas Library of IBBY Bolivia with the La-tin American Prize “Hormiguita viajera” granted by the Popular Library Madre Te-resa and the Association of Librarians of Argentina determined that some mem-bers of Thuruchapitas arrived in Buenos Aires to receive the prize. This was deli-vered on December 1 during the startles of the G20 World Meeting. A primeira comemoração dos 50 anos da FNLIJ IBBY BRAZIL aconteceu na Itá-lia, com a participação da instituição, pela 44ª vez, na Feira de Bolonha. Para a ocasião, o texto de abertura do catálogo FNLIJ´s Selection of Brazilian writers, illustrators and publishers apresentou uma síntese da história da FNLIJ ressal-tando que ela surge na mesma década da Bienal de Bratislava (1965) e da Fei-ra de Bolonha (1963), registrando que a atenção brasileira para com as crianças e os livros estava em consonância com o movimento internacional em prol dos mesmos objetivos.Em junho, no 20º Salão FNLIJ do Livro para Crianças e Jovens, os 50 anos fo-ram lembrados nas atividades do evento. O tema escolhido Livros para crianças: uma ponte para a paz, frase de Jella Lep-man, lembrou o compromisso da FNLIJ com a paz, por meio das histórias nos li-

FNLIJ’s 50th Anniversary at the20th Book Fair for Children and Youth

The first commemoration of the 50th anniversary of FNLIJ-IBBY BRAZIL took place in Italy, with the participation of the institution, for the 44th time, at the Bologna Fair. For the occasion, the ope-ning text of FNLIJ’s Selection of Brazi-lian writers, illustrators and publishers presented a synthesis of FNLIJ’s history, emphasizing that it appears in the same decade of the Bratislava Biennial (1965) and the Bologna Fair (1963), noting that Brazilian attention to children and books was in line with the international move-ment towards the same goals.

In June, at the 20th FNLIJ Book Fair for Children and Youth, the 50 years were re-membered in the activities of the event. The theme chosen Books for Children: A

Bridge to Peace, a phrase by Jella Lep-man, recalled FNLIJ’s commitment to peace through the stories in the books that all children have the right to live to-gether.At the opening ceremony of the FNLIJ Salon, the most awaited moment is the delivery of the certificates of the books that received the FNLIJ Prize and that, in 2018, presented the 43rd edition. Colección Alas de ColibríTras meses y años de pensar y soñar un gran proyecto, este se concreta en el año 2017, gracias al apoyo fundamental de la Fundación SM en Chile. Fue así como la sección chilena de IBBY, fiel a la misión de fomentar la lectura y los buenos li-bros, logra lanzar el primer tomo de la colección Alas de Colibrí.Dicha colección tiene como principal objetivo brindar textos de calidad a me-diadores que promueven la lectura en di-ferentes contextos. Con esto, IBBY Chile busca ofrecer un apoyo y contribuir a la formación continua de quienes trabajan tendiendo puentes entre los niños y jó-venes y los libros.La colección se inauguró con el libro El mediador de lectura. La formación del

lector integral de la escritora e investiga-dora colombiana Bea-triz Helena Robledo. Texto que recopila va-rios artículos, confe-rencias y reflexiones de la autora sobre el rol del mediador en la

formación del lector, los espacios de me-diación y sobre la identidad y caracterís-ticas de los lectores.Tras el éxito y la buena acogida del pri-mer título de la colección, al año siguien-te se lanzó el segundo tomo: Ciudadanía e infancias lectoras, libro que estuvo a cargo de la autora y académica brasilera Ana María Machado, quien nos lleva re-flexionar y analizar el rol político, social y educativo de los libros y la lectura.IBBY Chile ha querido que estos libros de gran calidad lleguen a muchos mediado-res. Por esta razón es que los textos se encuentran en la Biblioteca Escolar Digi-tal, disponibles para todos los profeso-res de Chile. Y como también se espera que la colección traspase las fronteras

After months and years of thinking and dreaming of a great project, this is mate-rialized in 2017, thanks to the fundamen-tal support of the SM Foundation in Chile. That is how the IBBY CHILE, faithful to the mission of promoting reading and good books, manages to launch the first volu-me of the Alas de Colibrí (Hummingbird Wings) collection.The main objective of this collection is to provide quality texts to mediators that promote reading in different contexts. With this, IBBY Chile seeks to offer su-pport and contribute to the ongoing tra-ining of those who work building bridges between children and youth and books.

The collection was inaugurated with the book Mediator of readings. The formation of the integral reader, of the Colombian writer and researcher Beatriz Helena Robledo. Text that collects several arti-cles, conferences and reflections of the author on the role of the mediator in the formation of the reader, the spaces of mediation and on the identity and cha-racteristics of the readers.After the success and good reception of the first title of the collection, the fo-llowing year the second volume was launched: Citizenship and reading chil-dren, book that oversaw the Brazilian author and academic Ana Maria Macha-do, who leads us to reflect and analyze the political, social and educational role of books and reading.IBBY Chile has wanted these high-quality books to reach many mediators, for this reason the texts are in the Digital School Library, available to all teachers in Chile. And since the collection is also expected to cross the borders of the country and reach all mediators, it is that both books are available on the institution’s website (www.ibbychile.cl).

Coordenadas abiertas: Lecturas y escrituras en tránsito

Del 25 al 27 de abril celebraremos la de-cimocuarta versión del Congreso Na-cional de Lectura en el marco de la Feria Internacional del Libro de Bogotá, con la presencia de destacados invitados a ni-vel nacional e internacional. También se presentará la Maleta IBBY, un portafolio que reúne los proyectos más importan-tes de la región.

El 14° Congreso Nacional de Lectura, que se celebrará en Bogotá en el marco de la Feria Internacional del Libro, contará con la presencia de reconocidos académicos y escritores nacionales e internaciona-les, quienes abordarán desde diferentes ejes temáticos, actualmente relevantes, la dinamización de la lectura y la escritu-ra en ámbitos comunitarios a nivel local, nacional y regional. Esta nueva edición del Congreso se pro-pone despojarnos de la ideas de las fron-teras (físicas y mentales) y fijar un visor sobre aspectos de interés público que involucran las culturas escritas. A tra-vés de conferencias, paneles, conversa-torios y talleres prácticos abordaremos los siguientes ejes temáticos: - Ruralidad y periferia. - Bicentenario, independencias y libertad. - Escritura, crónica y memorias.

- Jóvenes. - Migrantes. Dentro el evento, se presentará la Maleta IBBY, un portafolio que reúne los proyec-tos de las secciones de IBBY Latinoamé-rica con el fin de dar a conocer el alcance que están teniendo estas iniciativas y po-der replicarlas. From the 25th to the 27th of April IBBY COLOMBIA will celebrate the 14th ver-sion of the National Reading Congress within the framework of the Interna-tional Book Fair of Bogotá, with the presence of distinguished guests at national and international level. The IBBY Suitcase will also be presented, a portfolio that brings together the most important projects in the region.

The 14th National Reading Congress, to be held in Bogotá within the fra-mework of the International Book Fair, will be attended by renowned national and international academics and wri-ters, who will address, from different thematic axes, currently relevant, the revitalization of the reading and wri-ting in community settings at the local, national and regional levels.This new edition of the Congress in-tends to get rid of the ideas of bor-ders (physical and mental) and to set

a viewer on aspects of public interest that involve written cultures. Verde que te leo verde Usando juegos, cuentos, manualidades y diferentes actividades, La Fundación Leer- IBBY Costa Rica impulsa la educación sobre protección del medio ambiente y soberanía alimentaria en niños y adultos.La iniciativa, llamada Verde que te leo verde se realizó por primera vez en cuatro comu-nidades de la provincia de Cartago, en Costa Rica, durante abril y mayo del 2018. La orga-nización busca promover el desarrollo local sostenible, a través de la generación de es-pacios de expresión e intercambio cultural en centros educativos y en sitios de encuen-tro ciudadano. Se realizaron tres actividades principales. En primer lugar, se ejecutaron una serie de talleres educativos en escuelas, donde se abordaron con los niños las temáticas como el cambio climático, el cuidado de los suelos y del agua, la reducción, reutilización y re-ciclaje de desechos sólidos, y la agricultura sostenible. En estos talleres se utilizaron metodologías como la lectura colectiva, la reutilización de materiales reciclables, la creación artística, y la realización de vídeos. Según la fundado-ra de la organización, Hazel Hernández, es-tas dos últimas fueron especialmente bien recibidas por los niños, y en algunas ocasio-nes preferían usar sus recreos para tener más tiempo en sus creaciones. En segundo lugar, se realizó una jornada educativa y cultural en La Feria del Agricul-

tor, donde agricultores locales venden sus productos a la comunidad. Se trató el tema de soberanía alimentaria y se realizaron actividades como elaboración de macetas y siembra de semillas. En las actividades participaron más de 190 personas, tanto de familias productoras y vendedoras, como de las que acudían a hacer sus compras de la semana. En tercer lugar, se realizó un Picnic Cultural en el parque central de la comunidad de San Rafael de Oreamuno, donde se intercambia-ron productos alimenticios locales, se com-partieron lecturas y ser realizaron diversas actividades culturales. Estas actividades generaron espacios de en-cuentro sumamente provechosos y, además, más de 135 niñas y niños se vieron beneficia-dos por este proyecto, y su participación fue sumamente activa, aportando sus propias ideas a los procesos de creación artística y llevando sus aprendizajes a sus hogares. Otro de los logros de esta primera imple-mentación del proyecto, fue que múltiples docentes y bibliotecarias de las escuelas participantes ahora dominan la metodología y cuentan con los materiales para poder re-plicar el ejercicio con nuevos estudiantes.La organización cuenta con guías digitales donde se incluye toda la información nece-saria. Green that I read green Using games, stories, crafts and different activities, Fundación Leer - IBBY Costa Rica promotes education on environmental pro-tection and food sovereignty in children and adults.The initiative, called Green that I read green, was held for the first time in four communi-ties of the province of Cartago, in Costa Rica, during April and May of 2018. The organiza-tion looks for to promote sustainable local development, through the generation of spaces of expression and cultural exchange in educational centers and in meeting pla-ces for citizens.Three main activities were carried out. In the first place, a series of educational wor-kshops were carried out in schools, where topics such as climate change, care of soil and water, reduction, reuse and recycling of solid waste, and sustainable agriculture were discussed with children.In these workshops were used methodolo-gies such as collective reading, the reuse of recyclable materials, artistic creation, and the making of videos were used. According to the founder of the organization, Hazel Hernández, these last two were especially well received by the children, and in some occasions, they preferred to use their re-cesses to have more time in their creations.In the second place, an educational and

cultural day was held at The Farmer´s Fair, where local farmers sell their products to the community. The topic of food sovereign-ty was discussed and activities such as ma-king plantpots and sowing seeds were ca-rried out. More than 190 people participated in the activities, both from producing and selling families, as well as from those who came to do their shopping for the week.In the third place, a Cultural Picnic was held in the central park of the community of San Rafael de Oreamuno, where local food pro-ducts were exchanged, readings were sha-red, and many cultural activities were ca-rried out.These activities generated highly profitable meeting spaces and in addition, more than 135 girls and boys were benefited by this project, and their participation was extre-mely active, contributing their own ideas to the processes of artistic creation and taking their learning to their homes.Another achievement of this first imple-mentation of the project was that multiple teachers and librarians from participating schools now manage the methodology and have the materials to replicate the exercise with new students.The organization currently has digital gui-des which will be available soon on our website for download.

Congreso Internacional Lectura 2018Del 27 al 31 de marzo de 2018 se realizó en La Habana este Congreso ya clásico de IBBY Cuba, y contó con gran concurren-cia de autoridades de la cultura del país y expositores de todo el mundo, espe-cialmente de América Latina y el Caribe <escritores, ilustradores, editores y es-pecialistas>. El Congreso fue organizado por el Comité Cubano del IBBY y la Cáte-dra Latinoamericana y Caribeña de Lec-tura y Escritura y contó con el auspicio de los IBBY de Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay y México. El lema “POR UNA CULTURA DEL DIÁLOGO” se realizó en conmemo-ración de los aniversarios 165° del nata-licio de José Martí; el 130° de la creación de su revista La Edad de Oro; el 125° de la fundación de su periódico Patria y en sa-ludo al 36° del Congreso Mundial de IBBY. A las conferencias, las conversas y los foros, se sumaron talleres participativos. Se trabajó especialmente en el intercam-bio con otros campos de la cultura y brilló con la presencia los cubanos Zuleica Ro-may Guerra, destacada pensadora y po-lítica; y Leonardo Padura, el escritor que habló de sus libros y su ciudad. Se desta-caron las conferencias de Magno Rodri-gues Faria (Brasil): “Paixão de Cláudia: as narrativas para além do periodismo”; Alejandro Espinoza Guzmán (Chile): “El

discurso publicitario y el aprendizaje de la lectura comprensiva” y Aldolfo Cór-dova (México): “Terrorismo de Estado y

libros para niños”. Se presentó el libro Resistencia, de María Teresa Andruetto, compartido con los asistentes al Congreso.

The Congress was organized by the Cuban Com-

mittee of the IBBY and the Chair of Latin Ame-rican and Caribbean Reading and Writing and had the sponsorship of the IBBY section from Argentina, Colombia, Uruguay and Mexico. The motto “FOR A CULTURE OF DIALOGUE”

was made in commemoration of the anni-versaries 165 ° of the birth of José Martí; the 130th of the creation of his magazine The Gol-den Age; the 125th anniversary of the founda-tion of his Patria Newspaper and in greeting to the 36th IBBY World Congress. XII Maratón de Quito 2018 Corría el año 2005 cuando Leonor Bravo y otros socios de Girándula realizaron un evento público para contagiar a los niños, niñas y jóvenes de Quito del entusiasmo por la Lectura. Ese año tuvo lugar, por pri-mera vez, la Fiesta de la Lectura en el Pa-lacio de Cristal, un lugar hermoso, desde donde se aprecia en todo su esplendor, la belleza de la ciudad.Desde entonces la Maratón de Lectura convoca anualmente a miles a una ver-dadera fiesta de la lectura y la Literatura, donde los niños y sus familias son los in-vitados de honor y tienen oportunidad de conocer a autores, ilustradores, editores y otros actores involucrados en la creación de las obras literarias dirigidas a ellos.La principal actividad es la lectura en voz alta. Simultáneamente se desarrolla una Feria del Libro, talleres, juegos literarios, actividades artístico-literarias, presenta-ciones de ilustradores, etc. En años ante-riores ha tenido lugar un seminario aca-démico que propociona al público adulto el soporte académico y práctico para acercar a los niños al deleite y placer que da la Li-teratura.Este año tuvo lugar la XII edición de la Ma-ratón de Quito, organizada por la actual presidente de Girándula, Ana Carlota Gon-zález y la Directiva que la acompaña, con el apoyo del Patronato Municipal de Quito,

la Cámara del Libro y el Plan del Libro y la Lectura José de la Cuadra. Con el apoyo del PNLL se organizaron varias marato-nes en capitales de provincia, como Ibarra, Esmeraldas y Puyo.El objetivo de Girándula y de sus socios es contribuir a crear conciencia pública de la importancia de la lectura en la infancia y sensibilizar al gobierno de la necesidad de proporcionar las condiciones básicas para que la lectura forme parte de la vida de to-dos los ciudadanos.Para lograr estos objetivos es indispen-sable la implementación de bibliotecas funcionales, que provean a los usuarios de material de lectura idóneo, así como de la formación de bibliotecarios y mediadores de lectura que tiendan puentes a la lectu-ra. Girándula trabaja para concientizar a la población de la importancia de la lectu-ra en todos los ámbitos y espacios, como factor indispensable para la formación de ciudadanos críticos, realizados y felices.

XII Marathon of Quito 2018In 2005 Leonor Bravo and other mem-bers of Girándula IBBY-Ecuador held a public event to spread the enthusiasm for reading to the children and young people of Quito. That year, for the first time, the Reading Festival took place at the Palacio de Cristal, a beautiful place, from where the beauty of the city can be appreciated in all its splendor.Since then the Reading Marathon calls thousands annually to a true celebration of reading and literature, where chil-dren and their families are the guests of honor and have the opportunity to meet authors, illustrators, editors and other actors involved in the creation of literary works directed to them.The main activity is reading aloud. Simul-taneously a Book Fair, workshops, lite-rary games, artistic-literary activities, presentations of illustrators, etc. are developed. In previous years there has been an academic seminar that provides the adult public with academic and prac-tical support to bring children to the de-light and pleasure that Literature gives.This year took place the XII edition of the Marathon of Quito, organized by the cu-

rrent president of Girándula, Ana Carlota González and the Board of Directors with the company and support of the Quito Municipal Board, the Book Chamber and the Book Plan and the Reading José de la Cuadra. Biblioteca de los sueñosIBBY El Salvador está feliz por el pleno funcionamiento de su “Biblioteca de los Sueños”, una iniciativa del poeta Jor-ge Argueta, radicado en San Francisco, California, quien con el apoyo de IBBY cumplió el deseo de llevarle un espacio de lectura a niños y niñas en uno de los barrios más populosos de San Salvador. Además, de IBBY, la biblioteca cuenta con el apoyo del Museo de la Palabra y la Imagen (MUPI).Para el presidente de IBBY EL SALVADOR se concretó una iniciativa cultural y so-cial muy importante a partir de un terreno de su propiedad. “Yo he vivido lejos de El Salvador los últimos treinta y cinco años, lejos físicamente, pero mi corazón siem-pre ha estado muy cerca. Y es a través de mis libros infantiles que he estado cerca, a través de mi literatura”. El acervo de la biblioteca cuenta con libros de todos los géneros y países y está abierto a que la gente de los barrios cercanos encuentre un lugar de contención. Los niños de las escuelas, previo aviso, pueden concurrir y son recibidos por poetas o escritores locales y extranjeros con quienes com-

parten las lecturas y el contacto con los libros. La mayoría de los pequeños que se acercan encuentran en este sitio la única oportunidad de contactarse con textos e ilustraciones de calidad. El Sal-vador es el país que en “tiempos de paz” tiene la tasa de homicidios más alta per cápita. En contextos con niños tan ex-

puestos a la violencia, este espacio de la biblioteca, lugar de recreación y encuen-tro cultural y familiar, es fundamental, vital, necesario.

IBBY El Salvador is happy for the full operation of its “Library of Dreams”, an initiative of the poet Jorge Argueta, who lives in San Francisco, California. Ar-gueta, with the support of IBBY fulfilled the desire to bring a reading space to children and girls in one of the most po-pulated neighborhoods of San Salvador. In addition, the library has the support of the Museum of the Word and Image (MUPI).

For the president of IBBY EL SALVADOR, a very important cultural and social ini-

tiative was made from a piece of land of his owned. “I have lived far from El Sal-vador for the past thirty-five years, phy-sically away, but my heart has always been very close. And it is through my children’s books that I have been close, through my literature. “ The collection of the library has books of all genres and countries and is open to people from nearby neighborhoods to find a place of contention. The children of the schools, previous warning, can go and are recei-ved by local or foreign poets and writers with whom they share the readings and the contact with the books. Most of the children who come there, find in this site the only opportunity to get in contact with texts and quality illustrations. El Salva-dor is the country that in “times of peace” has the highest homicide rate per capita. Nuestra metodologiaCon base en nuestra experiencia y aná-lisis de los resultados de nuestro trabajo, IBBY México ha de-sarrollado una metodolo-gía con componentes que propician el surgimiento de comunidades lectoras, y cuya fuerza radica en la formación de mediadores de lectura y escritura. Para IBBY México la media-ción como concepto tiene ori-gen en la propuesta de Vygotsky y en las teorías de mediación social. El psicó-logo ruso establece que el niño se apoya en el mediador para conocer el en-torno, en donde el adulto hace de andamio para que así, a través de él, el niño pueda acceder al mundo e inte-ractuar de igual modo con éste; por lo que el Mundo no es independiente de nues-tra experiencia. El lector es el eje del proceso en esta iniciación, el lector en su

encuentro con el autor, con la obra y el contexto que comparten, y el lector en

diálogo con otros lectores. Y es el mediador quien de manera di-

recta tiene a su cargo la tarea de propiciar este encuentro y este diálogo entre el lector, el libro, el autor y los otros lectores. A él le corresponde

articular todos los recursos implicados en la promoción de

la lectura. Desde esta mirada IBBY México ha de-

sarrollado un modelo de formación des-de la concepción lúdica de la lectura y

la escritura, así como el acompa-ñamiento en sus procesos de

Our Methodology Based on our experience and analysis of the results of our work, IBBY MEXICO has developed a methodology with compo-nents that encourage the birth of reading communities, and whose strength lies in

the training of mediators of reading and writing.For IBBY MÉXICO, mediation as a concept has its origins in Vygotsky’s proposal and in the theories of social mediation. The Russian psychologist states that the child relies on the mediator to know the environment, where the adult platform

so that, through it, the child can access to the world and interact in the same way with it; so, the World is not independent of our experience.The reader is the point of the process in this initiation, the reader in his encoun-ter with the author, with the work and the context they share, and the reader in dialogue with other readers. And it is the mediator who is directly responsible for the task of fostering this meeting and this dialogue between the reader, the book, the author and the other readers, it is up to him to articulate all the resources in-volved in the promotion of reading.From this perspective IBBY MEXICO has developed a training model based on the playful conception of reading and wri-ting, as well as the accompaniment of its approach and appropriation processes, through reflection and dialogue about the importance it has for the formation of readers and writers, and the creation of environments that stimulate research.

Proyecto educativo y cultural: “Leo, aprendo y disfruto con la Biblioteca de Obrajillo” Este proyecto de IBBY PERÚ se ha veni-do desarrollando en articulación con la Asociación Cultural Jatun Nani, desde el 24 de marzo hasta el 30 de octubre de 2018. Desde que iniciamos la preparación del proyecto, a pedido de la Asociación de Comuneros de Obrajillo nos hemos acercado a la población adulta (dirigen-

tes, padres de familia y docentes, desde abril del 2017), para conocer de cerca sus necesidades y expectativas respecto a la lectura como fuente de aprendizajes y disfrute, mediante el servicio de una bi-blioteca comunal que pensábamos im-plementar a favor de los niños de la co-munidad y de otras comunidades rurales cercanas. Nuestro acercamiento fue mediante

encuestas estructuradas, entrevistas y conversaciones informales, que nos han proporcionado información valiosa acerca de las fortalezas y debilidades para la marcha del proyecto. Además, hemos sido parte de algunas reuniones dominicales que la Asociación de Comu-neros realiza una vez al mes. En la actualidad, estamos trabajando en la formación del “grupo responsable de la gestión de la biblioteca comunal” que será capacitado para darle sostenibi-lidad al proyecto. Nuestro interés está centrado en darle protagonismo a la mu-jer obrajillana, por lo que el grupo está conformado por mayor cantidad de muje-res. En el mes de abril se hizo el pintado y arreglo del local que tiene la comunidad. Luego de armar la propuesta de libros y otros materiales que forman la colección bibliográfica, usando criterios de calidad y pertinencia, se hizo la compra en Lima, y luego se llevaron a Obrajillo.

This IBBY PERU project has been deve-loped in coordination with the Jatun Nani Cultural Association, from March 24 to October 30, 2018.Since we began the preparation of the project, at the request of the Associa-tion of Communards of Obrajillo we have approached the adult population (leaders, parents and teachers, since April 2017,) to learn about their needs and expectations regarding the reading as a source of learning and enjoyment, through the service of a community li-brary that we thought to apply in favor of the children of the community and other nearby rural communities.Our approach was through structured surveys, interviews and informal con-

versations, which have provided us with va-

luable information about the stren-gths and weak-nesses for the progress of the project. In ad-

dition, we have been part of some

that the Association of Community Mem-bers performs once a month.At present, we are working on the forma-tion of the “group responsible for the ma-nagement of the community library” that will be trained to give sustainability to the project. Our interest is focus on giving prominence to the work of the woman of La Gomera, so that the group is made up of more women. In the month of April, we painted and arranged the place that the community has. After assembling the proposal of books and other materials that make up the bibliographic collection, using criteria of quality and relevance, the purchase was made in Lima, and then they were taken to Obrajillo.

Proyecto de Promoción de Lectura con Madres privadas de libertad: “Leyendo con Mamá: la literatura como experiencia vital posible”

En diciembre de 2018 se inicia un Proyec-to que incluye un ciclo de Talleres de Pro-moción de la Lectura para 2019, desti-nado a Madres privadas de libertad, que conviven con sus hijos de tres años en un Establecimiento Penitenciario. Estos ni-ños asisten, de lunes a viernes y durante el día, al Centro Infantil “Mainoì”, del Ins-tituto del Niño y del Adolescente del Uru-guay (INAU) y con los cuales, IBBY-Uru-guay implementa en forma conjunta con la Universidad de la República, otro Pro-yecto de Promoción de la Lectura, que en 2019, cumple su quinto año de vida.AntecedentesEn marzo de 2014, el Instituto de Informa-ción (FIC) conjuntamente con IBBY-Uru-guay implementan el Proyecto de Pro-moción de Lectura “Leer Juntos” con los niños del Centro Atención a la Primera Infancia “Mainoî”, del Instituto del Niño y del Adolescente del Uruguay (INAU), proyecto que cumplirá en 2019, su quinto de vida, sin interrupciones.Este Proyecto se propuso hacer transitar a los niños por experiencias enriquece-doras desde lo cognitivo y lo emocional, como una forma de inclusión social a través del acercamiento a los libros y la lectura, de la mano de bibliotecólogos y mediadores especializados de la Uni-versidad de la República (UdelaR) y de IBBY-Uruguay.

Objetivos•Beneficiar a los niños que conviven con sus madres en un establecimiento peni-tenciario, acercándolos a la lectura de la mano de sus madres.•Lograr <a través de la lectura> un cam-bio afectivo y emocional en estos niños y en sus madres, que favorezca su in-clusión social, que permita desarrollar sentimientos de pertenencia, mejorando así su calidad de vida y haciéndolos más felices.•Contribuir a mejorar los vínculos afec-tivos de los niños que acuden al Centro Diurno “Maino’i” con sus madres, y forta-lecer su desarrollo físico y emocional. •Favorecer el desarrollo de competen-cias lectoras en madres e hijos.El Proyecto fue financiado por IBBY-Ho-landa y tendrá una duración aproximada de 9 meses, entre marzo a noviembre de 2019. Se llevará a cabo un Ciclo de Talle-res, cada quince días, dependiendo del grado de receptividad de las reclusas.Se donarán 75 libros seleccionados por bibliotecólogos especializados de IBBY-Uruguay. En esta selección serán incluidos libros uruguayos y extranjeros:Finalizadas las instancias de trabajo con las Mamás, el Proyecto será evaluado y según los datos obtenidos, será factible de repetirlo al año siguiente.

Project for the Promotion of Reading with Mothers in jail: “Reading with Mum: literature as potential life experience”

Last December 2018 it stared a Project that includes a cycle of Workshops for the Promotion of Reading for 2019, aimed at Mothers in jail living with three year-old children in penal institutions. During the day from Monday to Friday, these children attend the “Painted Birds” Chil-dren´s Centre of the Uruguayan Institute of Children and Adolescents (INAU), with whom IBBY Uruguay implemented, in co-llaboration with the University of the Re-public, another Project for the Promotion of Reading, which will celebrate its fifth anniversary in 2019. BackgroundIn March 2014, the Institute of Information (FIC), together with IBBY Uruguay, imple-mented the “Read Together” Project for the Promotion of Reading with children of the “Mainoì” Children´s Centre of the Uruguayan Institute of Children and Tee-nagers (INAU). The project will be com-pleted in 2019 after five years of uninte-rrupted service. This Project was proposed to give chil-dren an enriching cognitive and emo-tional experience, and a path to social inclusion through books and literature, managed by librarians and specialized mediators from the University of the Re-public (UDELAR) and IBBY-Uruguay.Objectives

•Benefit children living with their mo-thers in penal institutions by introducing them to reading through their mothers.•Through reading, achieve an affective and emotional change in those children and their mothers that will foster social inclusion and develop feelings of belon-ging, this improving their quality of life and making them happier.•Contribute to the improvement of affec-tive relationship between mothers and children who attend the “Maino’I” Centre, and to strengthen the physical and emo-tional development of those children. •Foster the development of reading skills in both mothers and children.The Project was financed by IBBY Holland and its duration will be approximately 9 months from March to November, 2019. A Cycle of Workshops will be carried out, every two weeks, depending on the wi-llingness of the inmates. 75 books selected by specialized libra-rians from IBBY Uruguay will be donated. Among this selection will be Uruguayan and foreign titles.EvaluationUpon finalization of the work with the mo-thers in jail, the Project will be evaluated. The recommendation for continuation of the project in the following year will de-pend on the data obtained.

En el Banco del libro todos contamos En el Banco del libro, la posibilidad de consolidar tiempos y espacios para leer y contar se ha realizado a través de la diversificación. Además de La hora del cuento <que tiene lugar todos los sába-dos desde hace más de tres décadas> se ha incorporado los Cuentos de tú a tú que se realiza los jueves en el Club de Cuen-tos. Son y han sido espacios de intercam-bio en torno a la palabra oral y escrita. Justamente esa misma palabra plural y diversa que permite la reflexión. Todos contamos, todos leemos para los otros, todos nos leemos en estos encuentros que convocan a niños, padres, madres, abuelos y amigos. Encuentros semana-les que dan cabida a una lectura polifóni-ca que hemos querido orientar, este año, hacia la participación y la convivencia tan necesarios en la Venezuela de hoy. Como dice Constantino Bertolo en La Cena de los notables, “leer es también un encuentro con los otros, y en este sentido leer es aprender a conocer las claves de la representación del otro”. No es casual que desde hace más de 15 años el leitmo-tiv de nuestros proyectos ha sido tender puentes con la lectura, un letimotiv que ha propiciado un quehacer continuo sig-nado por ese encuentro con la otredad. Eso sí, a través de una selección muy

cuidada de títulos que se materializan en

la lectura de otras voces, voces de ma-dres, padres y niños que comparten es-pacios con promotores, cuentacuentos o. simplemente, con otros lectores.

In the Banco del Libro all of us tell storiesIn the Banco del Libro, the possibility of consolidating ti-mes and spaces for reading and telling stories has been done through diversification.
