Monthly meetings to brainstorm and facilitate this exciting event that is designed to educate, illuminate, inspire and entertain by celebrating discoveries, inventions, ideas and innovations in science, technology, math, arts, food and music. LACDC has a broad reach in the community and we could not do what we do without the considerable experience, talent, energy, and time that are generously contributed by the many volunteers who work with us in many different ways. Our Board is a volunteer group, and both on-going and ad hoc committees are peopled by volunteers. Volunteers are essential to the operations of the visitor centers in Los Alamos and White Rock. Whether it is Chamberfest, The Next Big Idea, Fair & Rodeo Parade, the Chamber Golf Tournament, Halloweekend, Farmers Market, or Winterfest, our events don’t happen without volunteers who are willing to get involved and help. Our Youth Business Grant Program relies on volunteers to evaluate and advise our young applicants. The list goes on. When we put together the invitation list for our recent holiday volunteer thank you reception the invitation list was more than eighty staff and volunteers. Fuller Lodge provided the perfect setting. Holiday music created a soft backdrop to pleasant conversation, decorations were festive, and photos of the year’s events showcased our volunteers in action. A special “thank you” goes out to Brad Burke at Hot Rocks Java Café for catering the event. We appreciate each and every one of you and hope you continue to support the LACDC.
