Hoy jugamos todos, sólo así se puede plasmar en palabras lo que cada malaguista siente y ha estado soñando durante una interminable semana: última jornada liguera, partido en La Rosaleda para culminar una temporada histó-rica, y con el objetivo de Europa cumplido, la oportunidad de escribir el nombre de Málaga en la competición más importante del continente. Suficientes alicientes para una jornada don-de el recuerdo de José Carlos Pérez, consejero y malaguista ejemplar que nos dejó el pasado mes de febrero, vaya más allá de lo apasionan-te. Ojalá, como decía José Carlos, la Champions este año ‘huela a Boquerón’.

Málaga plays host to Sporting in the 38th BBVA League match. This is perhaps the most im-portant match in the Club’s history. To defeat the Asturias-based side would mean relegation for them, and a guaranteed fourth position and Champions qualification for Málaga. This would be a landmark victory for the Blue and Whites.

The only way to describe what every ‘Malaguista’ is feeling and has been dreaming of all week, is that we’re all playing in today’s match. The last League match in La Rosaleda will end a historic season for the Blue and Whites. The team has achieved their European objective, and now has the chance to play in the most important compe-tition on the continent. This is a massive incen-tive for Málaga, and in the words of José Carlos Pérez earlier this year, the team needs to give it their all, as the Champions dream is so close.

El colegiado vizcaíno estará escoltado por los asistentes Aitor Ríos Pé-rez y Ramón Hernández Her-nández, con Íñigo Azkue Otegi como cuarto árbitro, todos del Comité de País Vasco. Nacido hace 41 años en Portugalete, Ferreiro debutó en la campa-ña 2006/07 en la Primera Di-visión del fútbol español. Su profesión, agente de seguros.

Como MCF, el equi-po ha jugado seis veces en casa contra los gijoneses. En la élite, con dos triunfos y un empate (1-1). Y en la catego-ría de plata, una victoria y dos empates por 1-1. Ese resulta-do se dio en las tres igualadas entre blanquiazules y sportin-guistas. Dato muy curioso.

Statistically, Málaga-Sporting matches held in Martiricos, have been fairly balanced between both teams, in the First and Se-cond Division. MCF have played six home games against the ‘Gi-joneses’, achieving two wins and one draw (1-1) in the Elite Divi-sion. Whereas in the Second Di-vision, MCF achieved one victory and two draws (1-1). The same result in three matches between the Blue and Whites and the ‘Sportinguistas’.

Tras anotar 14 goles ligueros el ejercicio anterior, récord absoluto de un juga-dor vinotinto en la Liga, en la presente campaña lleva 10 goles y saca uno de ventaja a su compañero Santi Cazorla. Si marcara ante el Sporting, Salomón Rondón batiría la marca (24) de uno de los de-lanteros más recordados de la afición malaguista: Catanha.

Rondón is on track to be Má-laga CF’s best scorer, for the second consecutive season. After scoring 14 League goals last season, a record for a Venezuelan-born player in the League, he’s scored 10 goals this season, one more than Santi Cazorla. If he scores against Sporting, Salomón Rondón will beat the current record (24), of one of the highest scoring strikers in Málaga’s history: Catanha.

“I remember everything, from my fi rst match to this last match of the season. We’re now fi ghting as hard as we can for Champions”

Sergio Paulo Barbosa Valente, conocido futbo-lísticamente como ‘Duda’, es por trayectoria el jugador más longevo de la primera plantilla del Málaga CF. “Me quedo con todo desde el primer día hasta el último que esté aquí. La primera etapa de joven vas aprendiendo, sabes sufrir, y luego a mantenerte, que no es fácil”, afi rma el luso, que con 206 partidos ya es tras la refundación del Club en 1994, quien más encuentros ha disputado en la élite como malaguista: “Muy contento, no es fácil llegar a esas cifras y quiero seguir disfrutando y au-mentar el número de partidos. Pero lo más importante para mí es el colectivo”. Su zurda, un guante, ha dado múltiples pases de gol. “Gusta marcar, pero siempre me he defi nido por las asistencias. Siempre he dicho que me gustaba darlos, pero si vienen los goles tam-bién disfruto”. Y hoy, cita con la historia en Martiricos: “Luchamos por la Champions, lo máximo en el fútbol”, afi rma el eterno ‘17’.

learning. It was tough, and staying with a team isn’t easy”, affi rms Duda, who has played 206 matches since the re-founding of the Club in 1994. “I’m really pleased, it’s not easy to play this number of games, and I want to enjoy it for as long as I can. However the most important thing for me is the team”. Duda has played his part in setting up many goals over the years. “I love to score, but I’m well-known

for setting up goals for other strikers”. With regards to today’s match in Martiricos: “We’re fi ghting for the Champions League, the ultimate goal in football”, said the num-ber ‘17’.

Los chicos vivirán nuevas experiencias y es un salto cualitativo. Son torneos muy com-petitivos de élite, algo básico para crecer”, remarca un Casanova contento por la tem-porada. “A nivel competitivo y de juego es para sentirse satisfechos, con una imagen muy buena y a nivel de resultados especta-cular. Y con chicos que han estado en se-lecciones andaluzas y nacionales”, destaca.

Varios equipos de La Academia del MCF participarán en próximas fechas en torneos internacionales de gran nivel. El Cadete Au-tonómico jugará en México entre el 20 y el 27 de mayo. Del 1 al 3 de junio, tres equi-pos competirán en tres sitios diferentes: los nuevos jugadores del Alevín Preferente lo harán en Lodi & Milán (Italia); el Alevín ‘B’ jugará en Sable (Francia), mientras tam-bién en tierras francesas, en St. André Li-lle, competirá una selección de futbolistas Sub-17 que mezclará elementos juveniles del Liga Nacional y el San Félix.En el mes de julio se sucederán más torneos en territorio extranjero. El División de Honor juvenil disputará, entre el 12 y el 18 de ju-lio, la Yashin Cup Moscú (Rusia). Del 14 al 22 de julio, en Irlanda, el conjunto de Cade-te Autonómico del próximo ejercicio será de la partida. Y hará lo propio en Corea, entre el 18 y el 25 de julio, el Infantil Preferente de la próxima campaña. ¡Suerte a todos!

La Academia del MCF teams are taking part in top-level international competitions over summer. The ‘Cadete Autonómico’ are pla-ying in Mexico between the 20th and 27th of May. From the 1st to the 3rd of June, three Málaga teams are competing in different tournaments: ‘Alevín Preferente’ in Lodi and Milan (Italy); ‘Alevín B’ are playing in Sable (France), whilst under-17’s players from the ‘Liga Nacional’ and ‘San Félix’ are compe-ting in St. André Lille in France.Further tournaments taking place in July in-clude the ‘División de Honor’ playing for the Yashin Cup in Moscow (Russia), from the 12th to the 18th of July. The ‘Cadete Autonó-mico’ are playing in Ireland from the 14th to the 22nd of July. Finally the ‘Infantil Prefe-rente’ are competing in Korea from the 18th to the 25th of July. Good luck to everyone!

The boys will benefit from these new expe-riences, as these are highly competitive elite tournaments”, says Casanova, pleased with the performance this season. “From a com-petitive level, and with regards to game play, the teams have achieved some fantastic re-sults, at a very high level. Some of these boys have been in Andalusian and national selections”, he continued.

Para Ernesto Terrón, coordinador del equipo de la Asociación de ex jugadores del Málaga, “ha sido una temporada muy larga y com-plicada, con mucha gente lesionada que no ha podido acudir a partidos. Esto sumado a competir en fútbol indoor y los partidos de la Diputación, ha hecho que no hayamos sido tan competitivos. Lo positivo es que se está incorporando gente nueva de otras décadas y eso es muy importante”. Los veteranos del Club, que finalizaron cuartos en la Liga An-daluza del Sur de Veteranos, participaron en la Liga Fertiberia y tendrán tres compromisos de carácter amistoso el próximo mes de junio.

For Ernesto Terrón, coordinator of the Ex-Málaga players Association, “it’s been a long and difficult season, with several players injured. This coupled with playing indoor matches and ‘Diputación’ games has meant we’ve not been as competitive as usual. However, on a positive note, new players are joining, all of different ages, which is so im-portant”. The Club veterans, who finished the ‘Andaluza del Sur’ Veterans League in fourth place, are taking part in the ‘Ferti-beria’ League, with three friendly matches scheduled for next month.

Atlético Malagueño have finished their League sea-son in Third Division Group IX. When the magazine went to print, Jaime Molina’s team were in fifth place with 73 points, two behind fourth placed Maracena with 75 points. Malagueño need to beat Nerja and need Maracena to lose, in order to qualify for the pro-motion play-offs.

El Atlético Malagueño finalizó este mediodía la liga re-gular en el Grupo IX de Tercera. Al cierre de esta edición no se habían jugado los encuentros de la última jorna-da, a la que llegaba el equipo de Jaime Molina en quinto lugar, con 73 puntos, a dos del Maracena, cuarto con 75. El filial blanquiazul necesitaba vencer al Nerja y que no ganara el Maracena para entrar en fase de ascenso.

El filial blanquiazul jugó este mediodía su último partido de esta temporada en el Grupo IX de Ter-cera, contra el Nerja en el Campo de la Federación Malagueña de Fútbol. Los de Jaime Molina han ganado más de la mitad de sus encuentros.

El delantero del Málaga Club de Fútbol Ruud van Nistelrooy fue uno de los protagonistas de la IFFHS World Football Gala 2012 celebrada en la noche del pasado lunes en Barcelona. La gala de la Federación Internacional de Historia y Estadística de Futbol contó con la asistencia de numerosos rostros del pano-rama futbolístico internacional y repartió 37 premios, entre ellos el de mejor goleador de la década que le fue entregado a Van Nistelrooy por el presidente de la organización, el jeque Mohammad Al Qassmi.

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics Gala was attended by several famous faces from the world of international football.
