Bombollavà is Pep Bou’s latest show. Created, directed and performed by this Catalan artist, the new show by the Companyia Pep Bou will undoubtedly surprise and astonish audiences in the largest European theatres.

With new technical and scientific innovations, Bombollavà entails the recognition of a rare and uncommon artistic language in this world, which has set the pace for European artistic development.

This December the Companyia Pep Bou and the Lliure Theatre will start to showcase one of the most unique and extraordinary performances in the theatrical milieu that will be seen and acknowledged by European theatres in the next three years.

The endurance of the tightrope walker After turning the laboratory upside down, Pep Bou now offers us a proposal where the risk of experimentation challenges all known images of his unique and inimitable stage language.

Bombollavà is synonymous with movement, energy, humour... but especially with risk. An artistic challenge that seeks the beauty hidden in soap bubbles that will share the stage with innovations, screenings and lots of lights.

We rarely have the chance to enjoy a show where a famous alchemist decides to leave the comfort of his laboratory to don the hat of tightrope walker. And he starts to walk the rope, convinced that theatre –like life– and everything that's worth it, always requires a challenge.

Thus, Bombollavà is the new performance of tightrope walker Pep Bou.

Performance through Pep Bou’s eyes Everyone knows that water and soap have an intimate relationship. And since all relationships change, it feels cutaneous during the week and chromatic when the sun is shining. Neither is it an unknown fact that says that there are all types of skins and ways... And that the one that shines most under a ray of light is spherical surfactant skin emerging from a breath of air, becoming a thin and elongated lamina. Neither is it a secret that a sphere within a sphere: structure. Lamina in a lamina: an intersection. Lamina in a sphere: prism. Sphere within the lamina: lunar. Smoke inside the sphere: moon. But not everybody knows what is hidden behind a gift wrapped in bubble reveals what is inside with a single glance... or not, because –caprices of nature– it bursts under our gaze. Thus behind divulged truths and tangled secrets, we can always find the bubble.

Concretely, the bubble that comes and goes. And the bubble goes when it finds it convenient, to be precise, in its own way... And that is why all attempts to balance a performance don’t always fit into a spherical shape. But what is for sure, and is not any secret, is that the attempt is well worth the effort.
