PAST PARTICIPLE /pɑːst pɑːˈtɪsɪpəl/ - participio pasado

THE PRESENT PERFECT

GIVE ME AN EXAMPLE OF THE PRESENT PERFECT PLEASE!

WHAT IS THE PAST PARTICIPLE OF TO BE / TO GOTO CUT / TO BUY?

HAVE YOU BEEN TO MADRID? WHEN DID YOU GO?

HAVE YOU BOUGHT AN APPLE THIS WEEK?

HAS HE/SHE CUT HIS/HER HAIR THIS MONTH?

To arrive (llegar) arrived (llegué) arrived (llegado)

I have seen (he visto)

Have you seen? (¿has visto?) I haven’t seen (no he visto)

To see (ver) saw (vi) seen (visto)

Example:

Example:

Infinitivo Pasado Participio pasado

to be was/were been

to go went gone

to cut cut cut

to buy bought bought

Page 33: Sprogs Little 4

Lesson 35. WISH YOU WERE HERE 27

Ej. I have been to the shop (he ido a la tienda) y no I have gone

“I have been” significa que he ido y he vuelto y estoy hablando contigo.

Ej. Peter has gone to the shop (Peter ha ido a la tienda.. no está aquí)

Ej. Have you ever been to Disney Land? (¿alguna vez has estado..?)

HAVE YOU EVER BEEN TO LONDON/PARIS/MADRID…?

HAVE YOU SEEN TOY STORY 3/PINOCCHIO 2/THE LION KING?

HAVE YOU EVER CUT YOUR KNEE?

READING / DICTATION:My new school is really cool. There are 3 big playgrounds, all of them have a lot of benches to sit on and

there are other places to play sports like tennis, football and basketball. The teachers are quite friendly too

and they don’t give you as much homework as in my last school. My classroom is on the third floor so I have

to go up a lot of stairs, but that’s ok, it’s good exercise. Sometimes I have sports lessons in the gym instead

of in the playground, it depends on the weather.

Narrator: Suddenly, there was an illuminous green crystal in James’ hand.

James: What’s this?Alien: Help me you have, help you I will. The crystal can help your planet. Mr Higgins: I can’t believe it. That is an intergalactic energy crystal. It can help our technology advance much faster. Cars won’t need petrol any more!James: Thank you.

Mary: You children have made a lot of people worriedChildren: Sorry Mary..Mary: But, under the circumstances, I am not going to take you to the police station. Narrator: The next day the children were on the front page of the newspaper and they were on BTV International News Channel.

Ben: …And the alien gave us a crystal from space. Clare: We can stop contaminating our planet now.James: And the alien went safely home to his planet.Mr Higgins: These children are heroes
