PALM ONE TREO 650

Initial Setup:

1. Select “Enable Local Network Time”, to do this use the stylus and touch the box next to this

option.

2. Select “Done”

3. Press and hold the red end button, this will power on the phone. (if done correctly Bluegrass

should be visible in the upper left hand side of the display.)

4. Type “#*#000000” and press “Dial” on the display. This will bring you to the “Activating your

Phone” screen.

5. Select “Edit”

6. You will need to replace the highlighted value, in the “Mobile Number” slot, with the “Ten digit

Mobile number”. To enter in these values simply select the numbers on the keyboard.

7. Using the stylus, touch the value in the “MIN” slot twice. This will highlight this value and you

will be able to type in the “MIN”.

8. The slot labeled “home SID” should be 1280, and “home NID” should be 65535 or one “0”.

This is loaded at the time the phone flashed but double check to insure they are correct. If

other data is loaded then the phone will need to be re-flashed.

9. Select “Save”

10. The Treo will prompt “Congratulations! You have successfully programmed your Treo.” Select

“OK”

Notes:

In an effort to preserve battery life, the Treo 650 will go into a sleep mode. You will need

to press the “Red/End” button followed by the “Center” button. To change these settings you will

need to go into the PDA mode of the device by the button with the image of a house on it. In the top

left hand side of the display, it should display “All”. If this is not visible, touch the black down arrow,

and select “All”. Scroll down and select the “Prefs” icon…Select the “Power” option…in the “Auto-off

after:” slot, touch the drop down box and select “3 minutes”…Select “Done”.

If you would like to disable the “Keyguard” function, follow the steps above with the

exception of selecting the “Power” option. At this point you will need to select “Keyguard”…under

the slot labeled “Auto-Keyguard” select the drop down box and select “Disabled”…Select “Done”.

Initial Setup:

1. Follow the on screen instructions to “Align Screen”.

2. After you have performed the action of aligning up the screen and run through a sample of “Cut

and Paste”, you will need to select your “Location”. This will be the time zone in which the

customer resides. (GMT-6 Central US or GMT-5 Eastern US) Once you have selected the

time zone press “Next” using the stylus.

3. Once the PPC will prompt you that the “Setup is Complete”, tap the screen using the stylus.

4. The PPC will run through its routine setup maintenance.

Programming NAM:

Before starting the NAM settings the phone needs to be on.

1. Touch the “Start” button, to bring down a drop box, and select “Phone” using the stylus. This

will bring up the cellular phone feature on the PPC.

2. Select “Tools” in the drop box, select “Activation Wizard” using the stylus. (This will run you

through the NAM 1 setup.)

3. The PPC will prompt you “Speak with a Customer Care…” at this point select “Next” using the

stylus.

4. The PPC will prompt you “If you have already set…” at this point select “Next” using the stylus.

5. The PPC will display the ESN, in Hex format, in the box below you will need to input “000000”.

This is the security code to enter the programming mode. (To type in the “000000” using the

stylus touch the box until a scroll appears, then touch the Keypad icon in the lower right hand

side of the display. This will bring up a keypad on the lower portion of the display that you can

input values. By touching the Keypad icon again, the keypad display will be minimized.)

6. After you input the “000000” select “Next”.

7. The PPC will display three separate boxes, at the top of the display, in these boxes you will

need to enter the “Ten Digit MDN”

8. The PPC will display a fourth box, to the lower portion of the display; this is where you will enter

in the “Ten Digit MIN”. (It is labeled “MSID” this is just another term for “MIN”)

9. Once, you have entered in the MDN and MIN, close out the keyboard by touching the icon

again then select “Next”.

10. The PPC will prompt you to enter in a “SID”, in the box input the value of “1280”.

RESETTING THE TREO 650

Always do a HotSync and/or FULL backup prior to a hard reset or zero-out reset!

How do I do a selective restore?

If you are hard resetting because of a software conflict, you want to take the following steps:

Sync your Treo to your computer, and do an sd backup if you have a backup program.

After syncing your Treo, rename your backup folder. (Usually found in C:\ProgramFiles\PalmOne\Username\Backup.)

Perform a hard reset according to the instructions below.

Sync your Treo to your computer, and when prompted choose your old hotsync name. This will restore your contacts, calendar, memos, and todo list.

Restore your applications one at a time, checking between each installation that everything is working well. It is recommended that you do incremental backups to your sd card as well so that you can revert to a "good" configuration rather than another hard reset.

How to perform the four types of reset

There are three four major kinds of resets for Treo 650: soft, warm, hard, and zero-out. (There are certain other resets, but these are the most used and most useful.)

Soft Reset

Soft resets are a kind of general purpose reset, like rebooting a pc. This turns your device off, clears out anything that might be hung, and starts it up again. It is a soft reset you experience

when your Treo suddenly turns itself off and automatically restarts. Some applications cause a soft reset after installation. Some just restart, and some let you know they will need to restart, please tap the button.

A soft reset can be performed by simply removing the back cover and letting the battery lose contact for a moment. If this fails to reset your Treo 650, you can poke a paperclip into the reset hole found under the battery. Several utilities also offer a soft reset feature from the software including ZLauncher and Initiate.

Warm Reset

A warm reset is used when something is causing your Treo to act funny. You can sometimes use it to avoid That Endless Loop Thingie ("TELT"). A warm reset is like going into Safe Mode on your pc.

To perform a warm reset, initiate a reset (via software, or removing the back cover), and hold the up arrow on the 5-way navigation pad as the Treo turns back on. (Note that on the 650 and other NVFS devices, YOU MUST HOLD THE UP BUTTON PRIOR TO INITIATING THE RESET). Hold the up button the entire time until the main Phone screen is displayed. At this point you can check the 377 error log and remove the software causing you problems if you know what it is.

NOTE: When using Treo following a warm reset, the home key and built-in launcher might be inaccessible. Therefore, you may need the use of an uninstallation app, an alternative launcher and/or file management tool to delete the problematic file.

Hard Reset

When all else fails!!! A hard reset will erase everything you have on your Treo (excluding what's on the ROM, or what you have on your SD card). Do this only as a last resort and ensure that you have BACKED UP your data beforehand.

To perform a hard reset, start your reset in any of the ways mentioned above. This time, press and hold down the red phone button until the Palm screen appears. When the Palm screen appears, let go of the red phone button. You will then be prompted (in many languages) to press up to erase all data, or down to abort. You will want to press the UP to complete the Hard Reset. Your Phone will reboot and start up with the Language Selection.

Zero-Out Reset

A zero out reset will regress a device that has non-volatile memory to its factory-fresh state. When done correctly, it completely rewrites your device's internal memory with zeros and ones, ensuring that any data is expunged. It should be used only if you want all information completely obliterated (example: you're selling your handheld, or you're sending it in for repair, and want to protect your privacy).

Read through these instructions before attempting the reset. We made this method of zero out reset extremely awkward to perform, so that it would not happen by accident. You may need the help of a dextrous friend if you find it too difficult to do by yourself.

Connect your device to its HotSync cable or cradle. The HotSync cable does not need to be connected to your PC, and it does not need to be connected to power.

Press and hold the Power button and UP on the 5-way navigator.

While continuing to hold Power and UP, press and hold the HotSync button on the HotSync cable or cradle. As you press HotSync, make sure your other finger doesn't slide to LEFT or RIGHT on the 5-way navigator; it needs to be exactly on UP during the entire process. Although you are pressing the HotSync button, a HotSync operation should not begin.

While continuing to hold Power, UP and HotSync, press and release the RESET button on the back panel of your device (where's the reset hole?). This is very difficult to do with only one person; you may wish to hold the stylus in your mouth and use your hands to press Power, UP and HotSync.

Release Power, UP and HotSync.

If you did this reset correctly, the screen of your device will go blank, and you will not be able to turn it on. The charging LED will not light up, even if it's connected to power. It will appear to be "dead." (any other activity -- such as the Palm OS logo or a rainbow-colored Boot Log screen appearing -- means the reset was performed incorrectly; try again)

Your device will appear "dead" for several minutes (up to 10 minutes). During this time, your device's internal memory is being reformatted. If your device doesn't appear "dead" for several

minutes with the screen completely blank, the zero out reset was performed incorrectly; try again.

After several minutes, your device will "wake up" and the palmOne and Palm Powered logos will appear as if you had performed a hard reset. Eventually, you'll be taken to a series of screens to calibrate the touchscreen and set date & time.

If you want your handheld to remain in factory state, stop here. If you want to restore data to your device, follow the steps for recovering after a hard reset (a zero out reset is a special type of hard reset).

Hay algunos móviles que tienen un procedimiento diferente (algunos 6600/6620/7610). Prueba con esto entonces:

·Apaga el teléfono ·Manten presionados el botón verde/hablar + ‘3′ + ‘*’, - enciende el teléfono. ·Suelta los botones, el teléfono deberia empezar a formatear y restaurar el

sistema por defecto

NOTA: Cuidado a la hora de resetear el movil. Asegurate de tener la bateria llena, o que el telefono este conectado al cargador. Sino, puedes joderte la flash y dejar el móvil inservible.

Esta vez ya solo intentare instalar programas que son de fiar, aunque bajandolos del emule sin pagarlos tiene sus riesgos. Me los compraria pero no me lo puedo permitir. Mi móvil ya costaria 1000 Euros o más si comprara todo el software que tengo instalado.

eso es lo que ocupamos copiamos en numero y lo apuntamos.entonces ya cuando quieramos consultar nuestro buzon marcamos el numero omitiendo el 52 y listo estaremos consultando el buzon sin tener saldo. espero que a mas de uno le sirva.
